Impact of Global Drought on Food Security

Global drought is one of the serious challenges faced by modern society. This phenomenon has a significant impact on food security worldwide. Climate change, inefficient water management and rapid population growth are making matters worse. Therefore, dealing with drought requires not only technical solutions, but also a comprehensive and inclusive approach. Fifth, adaptation and mitigation are the keys to dealing with the impacts of drought. Efficient irrigation technology, selecting plant varieties that are more drought-resistant, and sustainable agricultural practices can reduce the negative impacts. Farmers’ education on better farming techniques also plays an important role in increasing their adaptation rates. Sixth, global collaboration in research and development is also needed. Countries must work together to share technology and information related to agriculture that is resilient to climate change. Future initiatives could include innovative and environmentally friendly agriculture-based job creation. In this context, public policies that support food security are very important. The government must ensure that there is investment in agricultural infrastructure and social protection programs to support farmers and families at risk.
