The Masters Leaderboard – Rory McIlroy Vs Justin Rose

Rory McIlroy will go into a sudden-death playoff with Justin Rose after both players made bogey on the 18th hole at Augusta National to shoot 66 and share the lead. It will be the first Masters playoff since Sergio Garcia won in 2017.

McIlroy looked to have a hold of the tournament after making birdies on the first two holes but he went into a big slump with a bogey at the 12th. He missed a short putt to save par before making another mistake at the 13th, flirting with Rae’s Creek on the approach and dumping his ball into the water.

The 2018 Masters champion Reed remained in contention as he moved to six under with a stunning eagle at the 14th. It was a shot that he simply couldn’t believe he had made, as it flew into the cup and put him just two shots off the lead held by McIlroy.

In a move that is designed to keep the event fun and family-friendly, Masters tournament officials have allowed players to bring their children along as caddies. The concept was a popular one and it is a tradition that is expected to continue for the foreseeable future.

The tradition of the Honorary Starter is a great Masters tradition that has been around for some time now. Jock Hutchison and Fred McLeod were the first pair to take part in this practice, with both being able to play due to their status as previous major winners. Lee Elder also took part as an honorary starter a few times but poor health prevented him from playing.
