NFL Draft 2025 Rookie Rookie Picks

The NFL draft is an event that caps years of hard work and dedication by players who dreamed of hearing their name called at Lambeau Field in Green Bay on April 24. But even for those who do hear their names called, the draft is only the beginning of their journey.

Taking an early shot on a player with potential to make an impact as a rookie is a risky proposition, but that’s exactly what some fantasy owners are doing in Round 1 of 2025. Some of these gambles are paying off, as evidenced by the emergence of Shedeur Sanders, who was a top-ranked quarterback prospect before the draft and went to the Philadelphia Eagles.

In Round 2, it’s possible to land a solid keeper in Josh Jacobs, who is projected as the heir apparent to Jacksonville running back Maurice Jones-Drew. He possesses the speed to evade blocks, the strength to overpower offensive linemen and the motor to outlast opponents.

There’s also a good chance Tetairoa McMillan can emerge as a high-end handcuff to new Jags RB James Cook, who has the opportunity to lead this offense. McMillan averaged a solid 1.9 yards per route last year and could make a huge impact if Cook misses time with an injury.

Lastly, it’s not out of the question for Brock Bowers to become a starter in this offense. He possesses the versatility to run routes from various spots in the formation and ranked fourth among rookie wide receivers with 2.3 yards per route.
