World Series Highlights – Game 5: Giancarlo Stanton Restores Order

The World Series has featured some amazing moments in its 108-year history. From Kirk Gibson’s ninth-inning home run to break a Los Angeles Dodgers drought in 1988 to Reggie Jackson’s ‘Mr. October’ nickname after he helped the Boston Red Sox end their 86-year drought with a sweep of the St. Louis Cardinals in 2004 to Game 7 clincher Bill Mazeroski’s home run that won the Series for Pittsburgh over the New York Yankees in 1960, here are the best World Series highlights ever.

Game 5: Giancarlo Stanton restores order

The Los Angeles Dodgers entered Game 3 of the World Series in a five-run hole, trailing 3-0 to a team that hadn’t been held to more than two runs all postseason. But the Dodgers responded with a startling comeback that left them just one victory away from their first World Series title since 2020 and their eighth overall. This was a different kind of Dodgers World Series. The team was playing on the road in a neutral site for the first time and their star pitcher, Blake Treinen, wasn’t available. Instead, a young right-hander named Brent Honeywell got the call and was tasked with keeping the game close. He did more than that.
